Relay wiring

Disconnect the power from kill switch to coils.
Connect that lead to terminal 86
Connect Terminal 85 to ground
Connect T87 to the coils
Connect battery directly to T30 with a new cable

http://www.rowand.net/Shop/Tech/AllAboutRelays.htm  for a nice explanation

Neither is specifically ignition, but the principal is the same

dp9,

Stock ratios on the CJ are as follows:

Primary:    3.714
Final:        2.063
First:        2.438
Second:    1.667
Third:       1.375
Fourth:     1.111
Fifth:        .0965

18 tooth front sprocket changes the final drive to 1.833, so assuming a redline of 12,000 (and enough power to push it), top speeds are now as follows:

First:        54.0
Second:    79.0
Third:       95.7
Fourth:     118.5
Fifth:        136.4

if you're building motors, now is a good time to get a good (not h.f.) leakdown tester, it will help you build a tighter engine and get more power out, compression testing is good enough to get a bike running, but to really know what's going on, leakdown is best
