Battery's not charging?

My battery is charging fine, trek is having problems, I am using the radio shack rectifier I though it was plug and play with the stock wiring harness but I could be wrong, I'm not using anything from the stock harness so I am not sure. I'll get you the link when I get home. So I need to tape off my exposed battery terminals and any other exposed connections, any suggestions on the battery mount? Could I just slip some softish foam under it?

Rectifier should be plug and play, old ones are also a 4-point bridge type.
Yes tape them of, or even better and cleaner, is to get some battery terminal insulators from a car parts store (those red and black silicon terminal insulators), should be cheap.
Also I noticed you kinda "forced the positive lead @ your battery in a down bend against that steel baseplate, straighten it so friction can't mess with the insulation and cause shorting.
Also, where your battery leads go "into" your other compartment, they are on top of that "sharp" edge of the sheet steel plate,glue some folded rubber on top of the edge, or even better use a cable .....damn what's it called.... (attachment)

Sick bike bro...I will definitely be looking back though the whole thread for ideas for my own. I'm buying a headlight and bucket today tho so I wondered if you went with an oversized aftermarket or is that off a later model 750 or 900?

Good call on the wires, I will look into something for that, I'll see what I have in my garage and can make work.

As for the head light that is the stock cb360 headlight. I'm glad you like it and hope you can get some ideas for your build. I have learned a lot in this process and still have a bunch to learn so make sure you read before and after if you find something your wanting to use in case I messed up and had to redo it later in the build lol. I hope you can get some helpful stuff out of it. If I can do it anybody can

Hmmm for some reason looks bigger...could Be the shiny chrome! I think my cl scrambler may have a smaller stock then or it was replaced. Haven't looked enough into it. I will make sure to read everything..i am also a learn by doing person so I understand the "redo" part very well! Thanks and good luck finishing everything up.

Dang it! Dang it! Dang it! I spent 4 hours trying to get my new points installed and set the timing. I went to tighten the points retainer screws and both the right side ones stripped! So pissed. The backing plate seems fine. But I am not sure if I can just go to fastenall and get some replacement screws or if I have to order something. I still don't know how to put a new set of points on. I felt like the manual was worthless.

text me your new address...I will priority ship this first thing this morning.  atleast 3 decent screws and the backing plate.  should have it Tuesday. 
BUT,  did you atleast have your timing close w the light?

I always replace those bitch-ass crap screwdriver screws with some nice socket head ones.
Find it much more practical instead of messing up those heads.
If you stripped the thread of the little bolts, chances are you weakened the thread in the base plate as well.
 I see you already have a saving angel to send a replacement.

Wow thank you so much trek. I could get the left side points gap to line up with lf, but I think it was dumb luck. I could not get the right side to line up with f. I never got passed static timing before the screws stripped. The manual says set the points gap when the points are totally open. But I have no idea where they should be totally open since the old points are off and I have no reference point and now the backing plate Is off!  I really don't know what I am doing at this point or where to start.

I'm not around my workplace @ the moment. But I'm guessing thy are M5 x ..... You still have the screws? Just measure their outside thread diameter, they should be normal metric types.
You'll want the type of socket head with a "low head". Should be DIN7984, with a strength of 8.8 .
