1986 Yamaha YX600 Radian project
« on: Sep 12, 2011, 12:12:31 »
Putting together my build page..
When I brought her home:

Square headlight's gotta go..Will be the first thing.

Side boob:

Now for some mods..I like to know when I'm supposed to be back.. Added a clock:

Swapped out bars.. Painted these drag bars satin black:

New Grips, and Carbon Fiber bar ends:

GPS mounted:

ASV Rotating clamps:

Added a 12 volt power source:

Carbon Fiber Gas tank trim ring:

Retro Tank pads and emblems:

Added an in-line fuel filter:

L.E.D. light kit.
4-10"strips, 4-6" strips, 4 pods, a wiring distributer, Key Remote setup.. Adding more as I go:

Here's a shot of the new HL!

Round headlight from a Suzuki SV, Piaa Super white bulbs:

Daydreaming at night:

Natalie mounted up..Vroom vroom! (Age 2)

Cool skyline shot:

Relocated the power supply, added a splitter to plug in multiple accessories, and ran a hard line to the charger for the GPS. Now we're playin' with POWER..

Playing with Steel Carbon fiber wrap on the chain guard:

Relocated and added some more L.e.d.'s..

Finally got the shine on the headers I was going for:

Front brace:

Painted the Yamaha in with Silver Sharpie:

Time for a ride...

Sunset on the Rad:

More paint pen details..

And.

Final product on the chain guard:

One last night shot.. Added a glow to the ground. Can't say I'm not visible..This thing's got more lights than an 18 wheeler, lol..

Pinstriped! White Orbs, Thanks again, you da man!

A few edited shots:

Added a pinstripe to the pinstripe..Added the prefect touch:

Final product:

One more shot. The L.E.D.;s are bright enough to show up in the day..haha.

Levers wrapped in Hockey grip tape, came out great:

Custom Carbon Tag Mount:

Removed the rear reflectors and added flush led turn signals:

Found a way to get l.e.d.'s on the front wheel:

More to come as I go..
Added an HID kit. Not just the bulb, I was already running Pia hyper whites.. Whole HID kit..

Night and Day differnce..

Now the Gear:

Had some left over vinyl (Thanks again White Orb!) so I decided to use a spare helmet I had laying around and match it up with the stripe for a second rider if needed. Should look cool netted down too..lol

And another..

Here's a pic of my jacket with the reflective lines lit up on flash, pre patches:

Got my patches...

Icon Pusuit gloves:

I've got boots, but these are my footwear of preference..lol

Icon Alliance flat black full face helmet w/ bluetooth - Fuel half lid schemed to match bike colors - Leather novelty lid - Bilt heavy leather jacket - Freezeout Thermal Legs, Upperbody, Neck, Hand, and Face shields. Day lens glasses for half lids, Night lens glasses for half lids.       Ready to ride!

Testament to the proper Riding Gear:

Thanks man.. I love it. Stands out from the cookie cutter GSX'r, and Harleys. I get so many people asking "What is that!?"..

I'm really digging this. Nice work man!
Some people will tell you that slow is good - and it may be, on some days - but I am here to tell you that fast is better. Being shot out of a cannon will always be better than being squeezed out of a tube. That is why God made fast motorcycles….Hunter S. Thompson

It first started with necessity..Road bikes come with these standard now. My GPS battery is toast, has to be plugged in to work, so it started with a hardline for that.. My OCD took over. I'm 30 years old, married with two kids... I try to find stuff to work on sometimes to keep my sanity, and this is the result. I can charge my iphone on the go if needed.. It was pretty neat hanging at a bike event a couple weeks ago, we had a ac/dc power converter plugged in to the 12volt, ran a radio and little tv while we were hanging out.. Yes, it's overkill, That's just how I roll. lol.
