Well Sure . . .  It had to be a color that complements the overall Polish & Black theme.
Our choice is Viper Metallic Blue over a base coat of Corvette Black mist covered with high gloss and flat clear coat with pin stripping that matches the Black Chrome frame paint.
(However I need to vent. . . its difficult to lay down good lines with the a-symmetrical BCR pieces which are not even close to being smooth, flat or straight.  Even after 20 + hours of reworking the body work and additional glass work - one would think for their high prices it would be light weight and perfect,  Hell even the gas cap hinge was so far off it missed the cap latch by .30" So it got cut off and a special vented screw cap was installed = more time, more money !!!)

It's disappointing to hear about the BCR quality, the looks are certainly top notch.

A lack of symmetry would be a real issue for me, it's nice to see a builder putting the extra efforts in for a customer. It's going to be a killer final product.

Interesting colour scheme, will certainly change how the bike looks as I have got used to the green/body filler look.

GoingsMoto I have scoured eBay but struggling to find something that would act as a suitable donor for a hugger :(

Care to point me in the right direction, all I could find were plastic actual huggers.

Check this one out neevo..

While I'm waiting for the paint to dry. . . . I thought of answering a few of you DTT builders inquiring about the rear hugger fender. .  as mentioned prior I used a 18" steel "front" fender. which was 4.75 wide (This will depend on what size you are running, I allowed a 1/2" space for tire swelling, Welded an additional cross brace on the swing arm to have a four point attachment. cut out a flat steel plate to match the shape of the swing-arm and fender radius then cut up a old chain guard. . . along with a stud mount for the tag plate.  listed below is a typical ebay link for $75   (You will need to use your imagination to see a finished fender created from this one).

Hey guys I have some updates, I machined up some rear spools for the stand, got the brake rod chromed and the front fork top bolts. A lot of the wiring is done but there is still a lot left, and there is also a sneak peek of the paint. Dodge Viper blue and Black.

Duuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuude.... Just when I was feeling good about my bike, you go and do this! Bastard!

Ok, a few questions: How did the rear brake rod turn out? Do you get good rebound? Is that just a piece of wire for the rear brake light sensor?

Also, I just put 2+2 together and saw that the piece you cut fits in to the alternator cover. How did you get the original piece out? I think its just riveted in there, right? Can I just punch them out?

Lastly, did you extend the kick stand?

Primo looking job, boss. Really.

Thank you sxecafe, but your bike is looking really good too.

the rear brake rebound is good, the brake sensor is a short spring and a long wire.
Actually the original alternator cover was gone on this bike but I think you are right.
And the kick stand is a Triumph kick stand with a loop welded on so it is easier to put down and up.

Thank you very much,

I found a good way to showcase to bottom side of this.

Thanks, man. I appreciate it.

For the rod, you bent it, correct? Did you weld the stock clevis to the rod to connect on the footpeg and then tapped the end? I think I'm gonna do that also...

The header is chromed and thanks for the compliments, it is really coming along.

I actually had a straight rod lathed out two counter bores at both ends then bent the piping, drilled two through holes to weld in the stock mounting parts then butt welded them as well as welded in the through holes.

Here is a sneak peek, we at Goingsmoto busted ass tonight to get it ready for the show tomorrow at 8. am.
