Well we did some cutting and some welding tonight. We pulled the cover off the seat and trimmed the pan welded some brackets to mount the light. Pulled the seat cover back and attached it and gazingo! What ya's think? Im happy with it and I have the needed clearance under the plate. Gotta thank my buddy Bill for kicking me in the arse to do it, and helping me with his mad welding and fab skills.

Looks great! Seems like you'll need to lower the angle on the plate bracket though. What did you end up spending on the seat including the shipping?

Yeah it needs to be bent back down a bit. I paid too much for the seat. $250 shipped but that was complete with pan. Bolt to the bike and ride.

I got the plate and insurance last night. I rode her to work this morning 27° but worth it! She gets a little stiff in the cold weather, clutch and throttle cables get tight. But other than that runs along great!!! I got to work with a smile froze on my face from ear to ear. Its just starting to thaw out.  ;D

I guess I should note that I have taken her on quick spins before this morning. Wanted to make sure everything worked correct before I got her on the road. So she had a few miles on her before this morning.

I should certainly hope so! On your way to work in 27° weather is not the best time to find out that you should
have replaced that old clutch cable  :o
Man that sounds like something I would do! Congrats & have fun with her!

I forget a lot of you guys are in winter. Our winter has been 75' for two months. With no rain. I grew up in cleveland, i dont miss the weather. Anyway, got my shocks today. Mounted them up and went for a quick 5 miles before dinner. Very nice. $100 shipped. Ordered on saturday received today.

Well I have to say what a blast! I never thought a bike this old and this small would give me so much enjoyment. The only thing that made my S3 more fun was the power but other than that the KZ has a lot more cool factor. Now if it would only be warmer, my face was seriously frozen this morning. The thing about it is I dont even think about it until I get off the bike. I love it.  ;D

Well I went for a ride on my lunch break. Its pretty nice out around 50° today and sunny. I noticed the bike sounded louder and was thinking something was about to let go. I glanced back at my right side muffler and noticed my baffle sticking out about 4" or so. Pulled over and pulled it all the way out. Tucked away for later  :P. Guess I will be pulling the left side out to match. Sounds like an old 4 stroker dirt bike now. One thing I noticed is it now seems to be giving me a little bit of smoke out of her. It may be some left over WD40 that I used to coat the tank when I cleaned it but im not sure. She never smoked before this.  ???

I have a pair emgo shorties on mine. It sounds like a large 4 stroke dirt bike, ot two. Millenium falcons sounds good with his 2 into 1. I love mine. Only thing i wish i had more speed. She's all in at 85. Good luck
