Is it just me or does it seem that Yamaha made better looking tanks for cafe bikes?   I don't think Honda made anything close to the tank on the TX650 bike?   Maybe the non-USA SS50?

i'd have to agree with you, yamaha did make some sexy lookin' tanks.
so a dolphin is driving and his car breaks down...he takes it to a mechanic...the mechanic says its going to be a few hours if he wants to wander around the town...upon his return, the mechanic says "looks like you blew a seal" to which the dolphin replies: "no sir, it was a walrus"

Hey milehigh, where did you get the rubber knee pads from, and what kind are they?

Also, I've been noticing a lot of GranTurismo/Beston grips with bar end mirrors lately, are those available without ends, or are you guys just cutting them??

For those who haven't read xulf13's build thread I have to relate one cool story about his bike.

En route to Barber he got run of the road, by other motorcyclists, and had a crash. Once he got there he walked the swap meet to find the parts he needed. We then stayed up past midnight, with the bike propped up on a log and using light from the fire and a flashlight putting it all back together so he could ride into Barber the next day. It wasn't perfect but he rode in and even rode the parade lap.

To me that's what this is all about. Determination to make the mechanical mess in front of you will transform into a piece of two wheeled badassery

What I'm trying to say is, vot for Eddie!

Yeah, yeah, yeah. Brotherhood, togetherness, and mutual appreciation aside...

Did you see Matty's f'n BMW. It is like a high precision German engineered instant bad-ass street cred creating sex machine. Women have been known to drop a big "O" just glancing at the paint. I personally saw a bulldog puppy walk by it, within two seconds his nuts dropped, he had a three way with a poodle and a pomeranian, and ate a fucking mailman.

Hell the paint changes color like a giant pavement ripping mood ring. Add in the sleek lines and I can't help remembering my hot baby sitter rocking the mood ring and 70's short sport shorts. This thing drips sex, and it functions kind of like a mood ring too. You sit on this beast and people can tell what kind of cat you are by the current color. The only difference is no matter which color, it say I'm cooler than you and you better back off before I punch your face off and take your girl friend out for the wild night your punk ass couldn't hang with.

Seriously fellas, search your soul, analyze your inner self, look down deep into your heart...

...and rip out all that namby pamby girly shit that makes you too weak to put Matty's bike where it belongs. Up on the banner where we can glean some small degree of coolness just from knowing we have some loose association with the bike that makes girls hot, and other mean feel weak. We all have a choice here. Choose awesomeness. Vote CafeMatty!

And he's hot babbysitter approved.

I swear I didn't pay him off...

.... BUT NOW I MIGHT.

Thanks for the hirarious writeup. You can be my campaign manager / spin dr any day. You've advanced from a ride on the hump to a solo ride. Congratulations. The next (and highest) level involves my wife and a tub of crisco.

Dating, hell no... I'm not worthy. I mean look at his bike. Wouldn't give me the time of day. :P

I just think the BOTM needs to be raised up to a higher level of respect. It should be a dog fight. You're going for the honor of being up there with some of the coolest bikes I have ever seen, built by the baddest mo-fo's I have ever met. The nominees all deserve a trial by fire. With the level of competition this month I feel for the guy that doesn't throw his best shots.

I'd encourage everyone to back there pick, rather than having a site with this many members have less than a couple of percent vote.

Plus, I want that ride he promised. ;)

Well alright, then. *rolls up sleeves*

I am going to pull for the underdog brand on this site (to show I'm no poser), and cast my lot with the TX650.

Any bike which the mere static presence thereof causes not one, not two, but three GT40's to cover their Gulf blue clad loins with tarps, and thereby conceal their relative ugliness speaks volumes to me about the intrinsic beauty of said bike.

She not only does possess this kind of radiant, classic beauty, but she has earned it in the trenches. While not the only bike to be assembled at Barbers, by firelight, she has been to the dark side of the ugliness of the crash, and emerged with her face not bowed down in shame, but held high--with the notches of battle etched into her pedigree, indelible in the hearts and minds of all who wrought the life-giving procedures at the track. To see this ravaged soul rear her head in proud defiance at the parade lap certainly should inspire anyone to give heed to this credential, and throw his vote to her cause!

And further: The TX need not avenge its glory on the bystanding public; nay, she (at least I think its a she) has kindled in the bosom of her master's progeny the indelible desire to pursue the craft of his father. That desire has been evolved through the continued nurturing and guidance of the craftsman who formed her, and the formative ties of one generation to another; trancsending these generations and tying them to the one true love--culminating with the sacrifical offering to the gods of speed. She is not to be besmirched with the Bohemian lusting of her own will, but instead stands apart: above the rest, and satisfied that the result of her glory alone shall be sufficient to draw suitors of their own accord--each paying homage to the craftsman of her origin.

All said with my tongue firmly planted in my cheek, but Eddie, I like your TX, and I really like that you include your son in your building. As hard as this month is to vote, I had to go with the classic lines of this 650!

To everyone else--Defend your pick!
