81 XV750 Cafe? build #2
« on: Jan 09, 2012, 16:12:45 »
A lot of you guys criticized my fat front tire in my last build, so I figured this time around I would save some cash on the rear to front wheel conversion and go with the stock front wheel and tire.  The new build is just beginning.

I actually like the fat front tire look. Does it handle any different?

I'm a fan of the xv conversions. Whatcha got planned for this one?

Yeah, I like the fat front tire look as well.  The bike handled great, but that fat wheel and tire do slow the responsiveness down a bit.  I am going similar to the first bike on this build, just because i fell in love with its lines.  Will try to refine a few things in the process.

It looks as though you're building a very similar subframe. Might was well make a few extra and sell those puppies!

Yeah, it does have some gorgeous lines! Maybe its just the kick I'm on right now but what would it look like with a 3/4 or 1/2 fairing?

And if you were selling subframes and I had an XV then I would definitely get one from you. Or at least swipe your design :P

I'm looking at a 750 midnight right now. I plan on trying to replicate this subframe as well as I can. This and a bike on another forum are providing my inspiration.

I've gotten a bunch of emails about building the rear subframe, so thought I'd show some pics.

Thanks Swivel, I'll stand behind this bolt on design.  The bike will be set up with a seat for only one rider, so no need to design for two.

I would love to see pictures of that subframe from the top. Like showing about how wide it is.
