I'm guessing you're a big fan of squirley's 550

go with the grey, if you get tired of the mono-tone paint you can always go back later and put on an olive tank stripe or something as an accent.
Good point. The grey seems less likely to lose its novelty.

I am a fan. He did an outstanding job with that bike, and it was the first 550 I ever saw with a modern front end.

Me too. I believe he was kind of the pioneer of that swap.

olive...please.
so a dolphin is driving and his car breaks down...he takes it to a mechanic...the mechanic says its going to be a few hours if he wants to wander around the town...upon his return, the mechanic says "looks like you blew a seal" to which the dolphin replies: "no sir, it was a walrus"

What rear disc brake setup do you have?! It's huge!

To answer Ringo's question. The sprocket setup is 37/18. But the rear wheel has gone down to a 17", which will hopefully help balance out the new ratio. Regardless, we're sure it's going to lose some topspeed, but it's going to be QUICK in the lower gears.

It's off of a CB750. We drilled the rotor and also used a 750 hub.

RECENT UPDATES

-got the upholstered seat back from New Church Moto (hat off to Ginger!)
-stainless brake lines hooked up and bled
-drive chain installed
-front fender mounted

also picked up a pair of headlight ears. really burned a hole in the wallet, but options for headlight brackets that would fit the CBR600 tubes are slim to none. they're clean, simple, and black anodized - so they should match the tubes nicely.

Are you a Portland/NW native? Just curious since you had Ginger do your seat...she really is the best and I'm glad she's local :)

I'm not, which I'd say says a lot about her reputation. her work is fantastic and I'm just thankful I happened to discover her.
