Here are some plans to build your own wood bike stand/lift:

Great alternative to the hydraulic $400+ tables.  Just wish I had room for one.  But, if I had room for the table, I'd probably buy another bike :)

Here's a plan, 2X4's, 3/4 plywood, Harbor Frieght wheel chock, paint. 18" tall, rock solid with storage underneath.

I went with a simple 2x4 and plywood stand.
Had all the wood in the garage, just needed some hardware.
