Kz400 Title not signed, need help!!!
(1/1)
Orgoth225:
I have a little situation, I bought a 75 KZ400 last summer with the hope of restoring it, the problem is that the previous owner never got it registered in his name so it is still in the owner before him's name all the way from 1985 (checked records and the bike wasn't stolen from the owner from the 80's) . So I have the title just no notarized signature. Is there any way to get around this to get the title in Ohio? Many thanks!!!

If it hasn't been registered in over 25 years, you could always apply for an abandonment title, they may or may not try to contact the previous owner, odds are, they won't after seeing it hasn't been registered in so long. After that, it's a matter of waiting until the paperwork goes through, in Florida, they usually wait about 60 days after you apply for an abandonment title before they release a new one. Hope this helps somehow, maybe it's faster in Ohio.

Just checked the white-pages and it seems that the person who owned the bike still lives in the area, maybe I can get him to sign off on it.
