Brake light stuck on, 76 360 help so i can ride!
« on: May 16, 2012, 14:36:54 »
Edit, got the fuse issue fixed, still having brake light issue
Brake light is stuck in brake engages position not sure how to get it off but it was working fine yesterday when i put it up
Loosened the nut on the brake rod thinking it may have been to tight, still on also looked at assembly that runs the light looks fine
If i pull the green and yellow wire out the brake goes into regular stand by position but as soon as the wire is plugged back in its back to brake engaged

If you unplug the switch and it returns to normal, your problem is with the switch. Either in adjustment or it's faulty.

Between the switch and the brake pedal, there should be a spring. Unhook the spring from the pedal side and see if the light goes out. If it stays on, it's a bad switch. If it goes out, reconnect the spring and adjust the switch by turning the little thumbnut on the switch towards the switch itself. That will basically move the switch closer to the pedal, making the switch disengage.
