Ya know, I was thinking that last night, because I kind of wanted to keep the temp gauge (it is in fact going to be the wife riding it after all... ::) )

I will see what I can do, and then I suppose make a cover,or bucket for each one.  Thanks for the money-saving tips guys!!!  And I appreciate the sentiment Maritime  ;D

I've got to help a guy an hour away with his goldwing today...sucks that I have to ride my bike there  8) 8) 8)  I'll be back in the afternoon and I'll see what can be done with the gauges!!!

The second headlight would look better with your bike

ha! I got my rearsets and front caliper off one of those... Wish I'd have thought ahead and snagged the Supertrapp before I scrapped it...

Funny you should say that...a friend's girlfriend has an 89' F1 and has a supertrapp on it...he asked if I wanted to trade my can for his.....I was really thinking about it, and still might, but they are a tad long, and I really was thinking I wanted a "shorty" muffler on there, something I could chop up.  If I do go with it, it would be a high mount I would suppose...

And I agree with you yogi, there really isn't a need for any chrome on the bike, so the second one would be better, on the first one I thought the actual light was kinda cool though.

You know what it reminds me of?

Consider me tuned in. I've got a 88' Hurricane sitting in my shed that I've been trying to decide what to do with. This is some great motivation/inspiration!

Really like what you did to the tail .. At first was thinking o boy this not good but i was wrong lol not first time or last . Think maybe cut down the tire hugger and give it a lighter look but still keep shit off the motor . Keep up the nice work man !

Thanks Dreadrock, I took the hugger off and it changed the look quite a bit (see page 2).  I've got 2 customer's bikes to work on today...but then it's back to the CBR! Stoked.  I may end up making my own "oversized" headlight bucket.  It will be a lot of metal work but I'm always down for learning more of that. Next up is the seat so I can ride  this thing and my nuts won't be falling into the battery box with a fast stop..  :o :o :o :o

Dan, I've always been a fan of the Akira Film, those bikes were pretty interesting, This one is only going to be red until I get un-lazy and paint the wheels.    ;D

Ok, so I decided to add some "flare" to that rear tail piece. Wondering what you guys think.  I only did it to the right side for now so I included pics of left middle and right. I puttied up a little extension that has a similar feel to the gas tanks cuts.  It's not at where it will be when done, but you get the idea for what I'm trying to do/mimic.  And for ease of looking at the bike, I did a quick filler primer over the whole thing.  I wasn't anywhere near done sanding/filling etc. but it sure is easier to see things like it is now.

Like the way that little extra line in the rear cowl looks like it belong with the tank. And by using a actual sportbike you will have a cafe bike that's actually fast.
Don't ya hate it when ya fart wearin coveralls?

Ok, thanks for the replies gents. Just confirmed what I was thinking.  Sometimes the brain says it will look cool, but when you actually do it...it can be "tacky" or what have you.  I like it, and I'm going to add some more definition and the left side.  I only hope I can keep them relatively symmetrical.. ::)

Thanks man. This is another bike for "the wife" haha (I keep riding my KZ550 I made her...)  This one should be a fun scoot when all said and done.  And I've got some interesting ideas for license plate holder/front fender too.  Hopefully my metal skills are up to par with what my brain wants to do.

Here we are at the end of the day.  Time to go home and get a beer.  cut out the rough shape for the start of my seat pan too.  Not quite sure what the seat should look like...or how much padding etc.  I would like this one to be a little more comfy than the other bike if possible.
