Pyramid Parts, Steering Stem After Market Problems.
cgguy09:
Hey guys,
So my project has grinded to a halt due to: Broken steering stem & lost bearings...I tracked down a new steering stem & wanted to pick up some aftermarket bearings to spice up my life. I ordered The Pyramid Parts set off ebay advertising for ones that fit the K-2 through k4 models on CB350's...http://www.ebay.com/itm/220789695214?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649
I got the lower bearing on just fine but I'm having some issues getting the bearing guide pushed up into the frame (& I'm been hammering the shit out of it) But When I went to put on the top bearing kit, it became obvious it wouldn't even fit under the steering stem cap (part #53220-286-000 if you look it up).
I don't think I'm installing this incorrectly, but there is no install guide and there isn't any number to call (the company is in New Zeland...which I'm pretty sure is a communist country)
Has anyone had any experience with this company or any recomendations? I honestly am heartbroken over this...I've been waiting for 2 weeks to get this in & it doesn't even work...I know both blood and tears are part of building a bike, but I'm having too many tears & not enough blood now.

crazypj:
You did remove all the old bearing races first?
djelliott:
The new tapered bearing races do stick out of the top a little. I've noticed it with All Balls and Pyramid.

Them commies ....
They'll do anything to get even!

For Everyone's situational Awareness it sounds like they just sent the wrong part...so I tried to take it off, and we all know how these things go...the lower bearing came completely apart and the washer/dust cover...well that, looks more like swiss cheese then anything else.
It sounds like Pyramid parts will do the right thing & replace it...I'll keep ya'll informed.
