Any one have experiance with Clark Welders?

Any one have experience with Clark Welders? Specifically the Clark 190en unit. I'm looking at one on Craigslist, and since I have virtually no experience welding I though I would see what feed back you might have. I believe its the same one on linked below.

No experience with Clark. But, I was looking at Craigslist at MIGs today, too. Ha.

Does the one on CL come with a regulator and gas setup? Or just the Fluxcore?

Don't be expecting to weld aluminum with a mig...

my Mig is great(Eastwood gas/gasless) and useful but if I could Do it all over again i'd start with a small oxy acetylene out fit (probably half the price of the Mig I got)....Much more versatile, and you just may learn something about cutting and welding all different types of metal....But if your gonna put up the Money on a Mig Def Go for the Gas/Gasless much cleaner welds....Also spend the money on an Auto Dim helmet ....Still something I wish I had Gotten early on....

What are good starter set ups? I don't want to waste money on a crap unreliable tool, as I understand Harbor Freight welders to be... although I don't want to shell out for top dollar set up if I don't have to.

I have a clarke 240v welder I have been using for about 5 years. It does not run as smooth as brand name units but it is functional. You have to run it with gas because welding with flux core sucks. It is a knockoff but if your on a budget it will get you by.

Sometimes Home Depot or Tractor Supply Company have sales on Hobart or Lincoln Electric stuff.  But like everyone else said, flux core welding isnt the best for something you want to look presentable.  Having a welder thats converted to use argon as its shielding gas is the best way to go.  Initial investment may be a little high, but totally worth it in the end.

Don't be expecting to weld aluminum with a mig...

+1000 (unless the aluminum is as thick as diamond plate!)  Even then it's rough.

BradJ or Justin (if you know) what was the set we used when y'all put my hardtail on?   I'm not in a big hurry to get set up right now, just educating myself a bit... wouldn't have any money to spend until November any how, when I start storing Motorcycle in my garage for the winter.

I use Hobart.  I have a Handler 140 and a Handler 210.  They are both gas mig setups and work amazingly.  They are fairly affordable, even though they are made by Miller....all internal parts are Miller.  Great welders and aren't completely out of orbit expensive.

Not having any opinion on the Clarke, as I have a Snap-On - which I think was made by Lincoln back then...
