Two-up cafe seat anyone? Or is it an oxymoron?
jfman:
I am wanting to add some cafe flavor to my GS400S. I dont want to go radical with it because it is a daily rider and my only mode of transportation.
So far hunted doing some spoke wheels for it that I want to refurb and replace the front rim to a 17inch...

It ooks like this bike but is red. I was thiniking of building a bump in lieu of the rear tail section but I thing it may look akward... the seat may be too long...
Just wondering what others have done on bike that they had wated to keep two[up compliant...

You could always make a seat hump, and mount it on top of the seat so it looks like a "cafe" seat. You could attach it to the frame with dzus fasteners so you could remove it quickly too if need be.

That's a pretty darn good idea. Do you know of a build thread that shows this?

I want to say I've seen something like this done before. I believe it was a benji's seat that benji custom designed for a guy so he could have a solo seat and still have his wife ride with him. sorry, I don't have a link.

I don't know of a build thread on this board...but Im pretty sure certain bikes had this option from the factory. I'm sure if you search around the interwebs you will find.something that catches yer attention.
