New From South Mississippi - CB450
« on: Apr 23, 2008, 17:35:18 »
I have been lurking on the forum for awhile now but just got around to signing up since i finally found a bike in my area. Its a CB450 i snagged off ebay for 450.

Here are some shots of it. The front forks might be extended but i cant really tell from the pictures. Ill be picking it up this weekend.

I did a search on the forum but i was unable to come up with anything on tweek bars. Are they easy to remove and put back to stock or will i need to replace the front forks?

The stanchion tubes are much longer than the stockers, and I'm guessing Dr.J is referring to the fork brace.  I'd bet the front end would be like spaghetti without it :D

I'd find a nice stock set of forks.  Just measure the diameter of the fork tubes, and see what other CB's are a direct swap.

looks like there is a couple nice rust blobs on the bottom of the fork tubes anyways, so you could just order new tubes and rebuild with those lowers.

CB450 fork tubes are 35mm. Forks off of CB550s and CB750s will work as well.

Thanks for the info guys!

Also does anyone know where i can find what parts will swap between the CB450 and other CB bikes?

I have a few questions as to what can be swapped out  but i hate to post up dumb questions. I have been searching the forum and a few other websites but i am not finding any solid information.
