Need some assistance making a 2-up seat.

Big Rich:
Actually, not so much a "2 up" seat as to one that can handle some weight on the rear. Here's the scoop:

I bought a larger tank for my GR so that I can do any light touring that may come up. My current fiberglass seat is holding me up just fine, but some lightly loaded soft saddlebags are probably pushing the weight limit. I have another stock seat pan along with a cut up tank to make a cowl, but need some help bracing up the rear section so I can mount a tail bag without crushing my battery.

Anybody around with some metal working skills able to help a brother out? I don't have a lot of cash to spend, but any parts I can trade for the work (along with beer of course) are a given.

sasquach:
I'm here for ya if ya need a hand and I like beer .

Big Rich:
That might just be the ticket Kev. Can you weld thin steel?

sasquach:
How thin ?

Big Rich:
I don't know the gauge, but the cut up gas tank / cowl. Pretty thin stuff.
