gabby:
Hi there, I have been visiting the sight for a few months and thought I would drop in and say hi.  I bought a 77 Yamaha xs750 triple back in march and had grand dreams of what she would become.  The bike was pretty perfect after a new battery and a tank of gas, but I was really struggling to ride it due to the size.  I took a motorcycle training class and thought that maybe if I just got the hang of it on something smaller (they teach on 250s) that I would then feel better about my own.  But I still just couldn't do it and I didn't really want to lower it.
Anyway, I tossed it up on CL for sale or trade and found a swapper, we even traded and now I have a 81 Honda CM400 to tinker with.  I have already gotten past all of the neigh sayers who tell stories about how I will one day want more power and more bike...idiots.  I want a bike I can ride, and I am a little girly girl. So here they are the Ex and the Current.
Oh and I live in MN and only have a few short months of riding before the winter tear apart begins. :)

I think it's more fun to ride a small bike fast, then have a big bike you will never reach top speed with. Less likely to get speeding tickets too, well maybe not.

Nice colour, you may wanna take a look at this post

It shows a ton of build threads regarding your bike. Should find some inspiration there.

oh and welcome to the forum!

Welcome to the Fray, Gabby.

Welcome aboard from me and the other Winona Riders. Our long winters make for great bikes in the spring.

I think you made a great deal. I have heard that the 750 triples can be a bear..plus never mind the nay-sayers anyway. When you are done adding your style to the bike the'll be singing a different tune.
