1990 Yamaha FZR400 -Faster Jussy Cat-
« on: Aug 06, 2012, 12:33:26 »
Figured this isn't going to be a Resto, a Streetfighter, or a cafe so I'll throw it in Specials.

Picked up this 1990 FZR400:

I have already sourced a set of mids/lowers. So now I am thinking about paint schemes.

Possibilities (and forgive my terrible MSPaint skills):

Flat black speed block

Silver/Aluminum speed block

Yellow Speed block

And I really like this idea:

For the hell of it, I put a TZ tail on my old FZR400 race bike. Looked awesome (to me). This was in the mid-1990s.

I don't know if I have any digital pics of it or not.

I like this paint scheme -

Yes sir, that is indeed a very nice color scheme.

For now I am sticking with the stock fairings. For now.

You know that's what you want.  Go on.  Do it.  Any send me a seat - I need one and don't have the time or mental space right now to make an FZR400-M1 seat.

Wide stripes down low tend to look "heavy.  Try a thinner stripe and raise the bottom edge to make it look taller/lighter.  Here's one we prepared earlier.

Send you a seat? Ha. I'll trade you my passenger seat for your pillion cowl.

You don't want to know how hard we had to "bargain" to get that cowl off of the seller.  He really didn't want to part with it.  He'll heal OK and the scars won't show much.  LOL

All joking aside, doesn't Air-tech sell one to slip over a stock passenger seat?

Signed up - and I like that white and black paint job.
I'm done. I'm beaten. I finally quit. I'm cleaning shop over the next couple weeks. So I'll be getting back to anybody / everybody what I owe.
