Ok people, i'm hoping this is going to be the right place to post this. I have posted my hellos and a picture of what my Yzf looked like after I finished fightering it. There were a few changes after, including the addition of Jota bars, which is what led me in the direction I am now taking.

So here is the last picture I have of my bike on the road 2 years ago, only posting it so you can see where i'm coming from.

Some of the pictures are not in chronological order, but i'll try to post up here in a sensible order as it has been a very stop start progect so far.

There was just something "not quite right" about my bike as it was in the above picture, so it was time to do something drastic.

As you might be able to see, I hacked off the rear subframe, with a mind to give me more choice of seat unit.

The first thing therefore was to get the frame sorted.

Next was to fit a Thunderace swing arm, nice and simple straight swap

Sadly this wasn't different enough, i've seen several yamahas with the Thunderace arm, time to get the grinder out and cut up my old arm.

The plan was to use the brace underneath the new arm.

More when i get time to post up some more pics :)

Now as the engine looked a bit of a mess, it was time to tidy it up.

After hours of cleaning with aluminium cleaner and degreaser I primered the engine.

After primer was time to paint, here you can see the matt paint, I decided that it would look better gloss so later pictures will show it looking shiney.

Rear wheel, no before shots sadly, it was worse than the front

I have upgraded the brakes fron the six pot callipers to the more effective Blue spots, it required a bit of fettling on the mounting points. Also fitted here are Ducati discs to allow clearance between the bobbins and the pads.

So thats where I am at the moment, I am currently trying to mount a gsxr tank, and working on mocking up the subframe. I was hoping to do more today, but the weather is bad, and I need to use some power tools, not so good in the rain.

The above pictures show what i've done in the past 8 or 9 months, it takes so long because most weeks I get an hour at most working on my bike.

A little bit more done last friday.

The seat unit is a modified Ducati Pantah unit fitted with a gsxr slabside tail light.

Still need to make the lower rails but it keeps raining when I have free time, so they will have to wait.

Todays work , now it doesn't look like much, but it needs to be done before I can carry on with the subframe and seat unit.

I decided to fit a gsxr 600 k2 tank as it is larger (dont think the capacity is much larger if at all) It suited the look i'm going for. With this in mind I needed some way of mounting the tank, so have made my own hinge/bracket. I still need to sort the front mount.

My welding skills are bad so I'll have to get the bit with the tube remade before the bike goes on the road, but have plenty of time to sort that. The angled bracket were made by me. Its the right shape, and holds the tank in the right place so thats all that counts.
