[Junior Burrell]

Most people don't know it but I have a small fab shop I run part-time after work and on weekends. I've been seriously considering pushing it to become a full-time shop. I specialize in one-off handbuilt parts for Cafes,Bobbers,and Brats. I'm wanting to get input of what you guys think,and what different parts you guys would like to have available for purchase. Also what types of bikes y'all think would be good to focus on for off the shelf tanks and seats. FYI everything is built by my own hands and I work by myself so the quality is by my standards,and when i bring on people I will still do all the shaping and creating of parts and just have guys weld and finish. I also try to build everything the same way it was in the era of the original Cafe/Bobbers and only using technology that is better and not easier. Because of that it usually takes a little longer to complete projects but you are getting true craftmanship and quality.  Thanks, Junior@Retro Moto

I can attest to the quality of Junior's work.  At Barber this year he fixed a dent in my frame, put on a rear seat hoop, made a seat pan and moved the fuel outlet on a tank.  All very fine work, and he didn't even have any of his tools or materials.

Junior welding my seat hoop.  It was actually cut off of an xs650 and made to fit my bike.  It looks better than I imagined.

Making the seat pan from a piece of aluminum I brought.  All he needed was some clamps and a hammer and it fits like a glove.

There is a stout doubler we put over it but I didn't get any pics of it.

And Judging from the bike he brought to Barber, he's got some mad sheet metal skills.

Thanks Flug I appreciate the good words and pics. I prefer doing sheetmetal/aluminum work like tanks,seats,and side covers. I also do clip-ons and things of that such. For the local guys I get way more involved like frame hoops,subframes,and billet clamps for stabilizers and top trees. I've been fabbing for over ten years,doing mechanics as flong as I can remember,and I worked with a retired structural/mechanical engineer for 6 years who was also a machinist. as far as equipment I've got welders,plasma cutter,whole array of pneumatics,english wheel, and much more. FYI I'm not working out of my garage,I rent a shop space from the company I've worked for the last 12+ years where I've built a dumptruck from scratch,flat beds,overhead racks and much more. As far as some of my work I'll post some pics.
