The 4 cells are what most guys use for the 2 stroke kick starts.

'Cause thats the smallest they make... ;)

What would you recommend for a Yamaha XS850, that lives in colorado?  would the 8-cell be good?

8 Cell should be perfect.  If your doing alot of colder weather riding I would say 12 cell due to the high CCA for the cold weather startups.

I'm running a 1979 Kawasaki KZ200 with electric start only.

Would the 4 cell suffice? Or should i go the 8 for safety?

I'll be building an electrics box based around the size of the battery, hence the question

Thanks

For a 200 you should be good with the 4 cell no problem.

For 1000cc we recommend the 12 cell.  Although the 8 cell will do it, the 12 cell is the preferred size and will make staritng a breeze.
