He said it's not a hack job, since he kept the original wiring harness. Maybe you don't know what you're talking about. And besides, they don't make hipsters in the UP- just metal heads and hockey players.  ::)

part of the problem here is communication and objective

for me i always assume the goal is to have a safe good riding fast cool looking reliable bike

for a large part of the  s&m (stand and model) bike crowd all that matters is looking cool and for the bike to be able to make it

to the meet show or coffee shop us old school people loose a lot of the profitability in these bikes imposing our out of date

morals and ethics on a age and industry  that has changed and moved on

look at the bright side alpha under the new design criteria we can build 3 bikes a week !!!  think of the money

you just spend equal time writing the ad as you do building the bike

so 10 hrs on the bike 4 hrs on photoshop 2 hrs writing the ad and voila a 9k bike

...every dump I take is original too, and it doesn't smell any better because of it's originality.

I can tell how out of touch you are by the fact that you didn't even mention video, loser.

Fer fuck sake! Do I haveta 'splain EVERYthing?!

Man, you and I are destined to the dustbin of motorcycling history. I've given up on being famous, and I'll just settle for being infamous...  8)

I know that I'm new here and this might be an unpopular opinion but I feel like I have to chime in on the age thing.  I'm probably younger than a lot of folks here and also probably younger than those two tough guys in that video (love the arms crossed pose behind the bike - bad ass, as Ichiban would say), but what I'm into and what they're into don't really mesh.

I can appreciate most bikes but I REALLY appreciate functionality, good taste (as I define it... haha), and moderation.  I think that there are probably cool 20 year olds and dipshit 20 year olds just like there are cool 60 year olds and dipshit 60 year olds.  Part of the thing with motorcycles is that the dipshit 20 year olds stand a far lower chance of making it to their 60s than the cool 20 year olds do (and here I'm defining "cool" as being smart, reasonable, and having at least some level of perspective on the whole thing).  The dipshits who follow fads with no thought to safety, functionality, or really even basic utility are much more likely to be killed, injured, or otherwise give up on motorcycling directly because of the choices they have made.  What we are left with then, I believe, is a higher concentration of intelligent riders in older demographics because, quite simply, Darwin was right.

So it's probably not that there are MORE idiots now than ever before, although it often might feel that way, it's just as we get older and get more perspective it allows us to really SEE what the idiots are up to and we are, in turn, less likely to be idiots ourselves.

Now, I started this little mini rant by addressing age-based idiocy, and as I said, I'm probably on the younger-ish side of this equation.  I should also mention that a lot of people would, on first glance, call me a hipster - I have tattoos, wear plaid, my jeans are often, shall we say, more form-fitting than others may prefer.  I reject that classification, though.  I wear a full-face helmet and, although I prefer a tastefully executed chop/bob/whatever, I really prefer restorations and predominantly stock machines.  I also care much more about how my seat feels under my ass than what it looks like when I'm not on the bike - in this case, I would say thin is not so in.

Anyway, I'm not trying to piss anyone off, I just feel like the younger crowd often all get lumped together in an us versus them with older folks.  I think the main point I'm trying to get at is that there have always been dumb twats and there always will be.  The majority of young people ignore the sage wisdom of their older counterparts and this will always be the case - if everyone listened to their parents, for instance, very few people would ride motorcycles.  All that said, I agree with you guys on a whole lot of things - #1 in this thread being: that bike is dumb - I just wanted to chime in defense of some of us folks with less ticks on the odometer who are probably going to make our own mistakes even with well-intentioned warnings, just like most older riders did.

I considered posting my thoughts, then realized that I have nothing to gain by doing so, and very, very few people would benefit from my profound wisdom. Fuck it! ;-)

So what do you have to gain by posting it here and making fun of it? I'm new here so maybe this is normal behavior here, but it seems a bit strange to pick random bikes and ridicule them. Again, sorry if this is the norm here.

it is a GOOD thing to point out the stupid fuckers that build OBVIOUSLY dangerous bikes, trying to pass them off as road worthy machines
i would be for chopping their fucking hands off,or hanging them with a urine and feces soaked rope
