Yeah Son!
Hey everyone. Been lurking and reading around here for a while. Love DTT, there are some really smart people here and some amazing rides. I finally picked up my first bike since youth motorcross days 20 years ago. I've been wanting a classic Honda for several years now and finally picked one up. Found a 76 CB750F on eBay that is actually in really good original shape. Really pretty as she is. I am going to do some stuff (already started) but my goal is to be able to return it to stock if I ever want to in the future. Here is what I have in mind.
Clip on bars, shaved top triple tree, new mini-gauges, new led headlight, new controls, levers, switches, new front master cylinder. - All on this is in progress now I'm calling it the front end overhaul.
I also took off the stock airbox and installed KandN filters. New fuel filter and lines are on order.
Next I want to do rearsets, already picked them up from Joker Machine and then a new seat. I am working on a design that will be convertible between a solo cafe style seat or a custom two up so I can take the ladies for a spin (wife and daughter) . I will also be working in some really stealth passenger footpegs at some point.
Again my goal is to give her a classy look that pays tribute to the original design. There will be very few minor frame modifications and all parts I remove will remain in tact and be able to be reinstalled someday. Going to be tricky with some projects I know but I think I can figure it out
Finally once I have the bike looking good I am going to pull the motor and have it gone through really well. Any suggestions there would be appreciated as far as what to do to keep it close to stock, but I am willing to do some engine mods to get some more horses.
Here are a few pics before I started anything.
