might be putting it away for the winter. but at the same time after riding it all summer there are some changes I need to make - I want to put the kick stand forward on the frame more. and also powder the frame rather than paint

Why do you want to move the kickstand forward?  There is lots of bracing where it is now.  I've seen them rip the tube they were attached to when not braced well, or when reliant on just the tube for a mount.
