Okay, I know this isn't going to have enough details or pictures for most of you, but I'm getting everything together to change the exhaust on my cafe. The MAC 4-1 has never really set right with me on the bike, I've always fancied it should have a 4-2 (but not stock or cruiser style) system. After kicking around some ideas I finally decided what direction to go with it.
I'll be starting with a stock system. I'm using that from the head pipes back to just behind the crossover pipe. I'll be cutting the pipes at that point and welding in lengths of straight pipe with an elbow just behind the foot peg, kicking the cans up at an angle. I haven't sourced my elbows yet so I'm not sure how steep an angle they'll go at this point. I'm waiting for these mufflers to arrive, http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=200343623975&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWAX%3AIT&viewitem=
, which will be mounted off the elbow on the mid-pipe.
Top this all off by wrapping the head and mid pipes with white header wrap, install heat shields (I was lucky enough to get these on the stock system I sourced) and see where that lands me.
I promise updates and picks once I get all my stuff together and get started on the actual project, but for now the tease will have to do.
