How many miles is too many CB350F
« on: Aug 23, 2017, 22:02:01 »
Considering buying a CB350F stock with 23,000 miles for $1250. It was a good runner for 3 years and then sat last year, now it needs a basic wake up and service. Is 23K mileage high?

Mileage wise, no.

The thing that ruins bikes more than anything else is sitting for long periods without being ridden.

If the bike has been ridden / serviced regularly then higher mileage is not really an issue.

I'll third that 23k isn't much with the same caveats. Take a look at the cam chain tensioner to see if looks OK -- I've seen some of these broken off. And the general rules for checking out a used bike apply -- engine free? visible signs of oil leaks? chain/sprocket condition? cosmetics make it worth the price? etc.

When you say stock -- stock 4-4 pipes? Are they in good shape? Those are worth a bundle on their own if they're in good nick.

And I'll second BradJ -- he's got a good parts bike (or potential runner!) for $400
