Cb400f oil leak
« on: Jun 25, 2018, 00:03:51 »
So I recently rebuilt a Cb400f with 9000ish miles and it now has about 12000. It quickly developed an oil leak from what I thought was the metal plug for the oil gallery behind the left side crank cover. So I replaced the o ring in it but it kept leaking. Turns out itís the left side crank oil seal. Iíve replaced all the oil seals on the engine when I rebuilt it. Could it be put in wrong? It looks ok. Iím just wondering if there is any internal problem with the crank that would cause a new seal to leak.

Just making sure but was it a brand new crank seal? Also, those seals usually have one way to put them on as they have nipples/guides on them. Are you sure they got seated correctly? Pics of the oily leaked area?
