Yep, it is just plate aluminum.

Here is a before and after it now hugs the cases closely and fits the lines of the bike a bit more.

Major Tom to foot controls...

... I will show myself out.

Brackets need to be drilled and bent but stuff is getting close...   need to fab up the cable rear brake mounts and a few bits and bobs for the shifter.

Got some foot controls on today.  If it wasn't raining I would cobble the shifter on and do a quick boot and christening garage burnout.

You can see my pile of failures on the floor.

Yeah in no particular order the smaller ones were who knows what aluminum plate, when I bent them they cracked

The big ones were too bulky, just wasn't happy with how they turned out.. I did use them as welding templates though so not a total failure.

The first ladder ones I thought the tube was 316L... which is what the filler and the lugs were....  it wasn't and the welds got some micro cracks from heat differential between the tube and the lugs.

Did have some steel tube for the last ones...

And the sun is out...  so I may go rig up a shifter and make my neighbors hate me and try and roast some tire.  But I also have to get a dust of paint on them... so IDK.
