SR250 Tank - help
« on: Jan 05, 2019, 12:05:47 »
Bought a 1980 Yamaha SR250 about 6 months ago. Last piece to the build I need is the tank but finding one has been quite the challenge. Running into issues finding a tank that will clear the bracket and solenoid that is on the right side of the frame. Trying to find a tank that will work without relocating that bracket. Does anyone know if the SR185 tank is the same? Will early 1980 virago tanks clear and work? If anyone knows of which tank I should be looking for, Iím all ears. Anything will beat the zip tied oil jug Iíve been putting it around with. Anyone know if any of the aftermarket tanks work for this bike? Iím really open to anything that holds gas and looks halfway decent without significant fan work. I think for the virago tanks Iíd have to shift the bracket under the seat back a few inches and trim the front of the seat.
