When I last posted here I had just bought a beat to crap track bike instead of a nice stock Monster per the orginal plan.
Work on the trackbike continued until it was close to being almost ready to think about maybe getting it back on the track.
Then i decided I needed a Streetfighter V2. I put a deposit down on one and then listed my V85TT for sale. NO TRADES! It was right in the ad.
So of course I got an offer to trade it for multiple POS non-running, non-desirable even if they were running Japanese bikes plus a snowmobile. WTF? No, I do not want your literal garbage in trade for my like new V85TT.
Then I got another offer for another trade. Another non-runner, this one had been sitting for 20 years. Except it was a Ducati Superlight. I started the reply saying I needed money for the Streetfighter I had just ordered, but by the time I finished the reply I was asking for more info and photos.
Long story short, this ended up in my garage.
I decided my 851 would get sold instead. I wrote the ad hoping it would sell before my new bike came in. I had a few weeks? It could happen...
I posted the ad around midnight. It was sold by 1AM. When I woke up I had two more people saying they'd take it if the first deal fell through. I guess I should have asked more for it?
I took delivery of the Streetfighter the day after the Superlight officially became mine. When my wife saw the Superlight she said "You traded a new Moto Guzzi for a 20 year old Ducati?" And I said "NO! I traded it for a _30_ year old Ducati!"
She didn't think that was as funny as I did.
The trackbike became a donor bike - I stole it's swingarm (SLs was cracked) and Ohlins shock along with a few other parts to get the SL back on the road. The trackbike may never run again at this point... but the SL Is back in the road!
I got it done just in time to put back in storage but hopefully next season it'll see more use. It made one appearance last summer, "All Clubs Day" in Stockbridge, MI.
