Hey guys. Here's the dealio.
I bought one of Pete's CB350 twin ignition kits (www.cb350ignition.com) a few weeks ago to test on my CB360. It just arrived but in the time waiting I've decided I'm not going to mess with it as I'm going to try to sell off all my CB360 stuff. I have my eye on a...
Well fwiw the guy was able to get a nice shiny spot of weld on without disassembling anything major. This dude is a pretty darn good welder. I have it all bolted back up. Just have to reset my points and I'll try to fire it up. I may get to ride by the time winter finally rolls around. :)
Thanks guys. I was hoping for an easy fix. My brother knows a pro welder that's also into bikes so he's gonna have him check it out too. This was a spare I just picked up so if I have to run it sans-kick until the winter then that's ok too. it's just gonna be a stock commuter bike anyway. I have...
...or can it be fixed?
So I pulled the right side cover to service the clutch and saw a small piece of aluminum in the bottom of the cover.
Turns out the stop for the kickstart spring return broke off. There is barely enough that it still functions but I don't trust it to last long. You can see...
I believe he's referring to the retainer with the 3 bearings in it at the end of that thread. They're talking about the clutch pop issue. Sorry now I'm confused where you are with your problem
Meh. I read about a minutes worth and moved on. The us vs. them arguments grow old with me.
I really just don't understand people's allegiance though. One time I drove from San Fran to LA to get a yamaha fj12 rolling chassis. I stopped cause I saw a bike parked on the side of the road and a guy...
No tension in the clutch lever? I'm fairly new to this but make sure you have the ball bearing in place, hopefully it didn't fall out when you removed the cover.
I hope to order one this weekend. I have to use the money I make from playing music to fund the bike. My paycheck funds bass guitars. It's a vicious cycle. :)
I had been talking to him about a 360 version. I sent over some measurements and I think the 350 version should work based on his measurements he makes them to. Hmmmmm...I reckon I'll be a guinea pig.
I'm strictly a recreational rider but my current bike is a Franken-Felt.
Felt F55 frameset, Ultegra SL, and misc parts I had laying around.
I also ride an old yellow Gunnar Rouckhound with the original JudyXC forks and a set of Spinergy wheels with Spox hubs. Yellow spokes of course. :)
