Hey guys
I got this to maybe try to get some more fuel capacity on my bike, but it doesnt fit at all. I started taking the rust off with a wire wheel and found one spot where the tank is rusted all the way through. I dont have those sort of skills, but I know a lot of you do. These look like...
Im sort of confused as to why I need to move the downtubes. I thought I would just grind off the old mount, trim it down, then weld it back on. No?

Awesome!
Anyone with frame experience who can approve a nove of the upper shock mounts to where the screwdriver is in the picture. I love it... The bike finally sits like Ive wanted and it gains ground clearance lost from the smaller front wheel
Also does anyone know anything about getting...
Alright man well maybe we can make something happen down the line. What do you do to figure out the shapes of your pipes (software?). I might try to make one by forming the cones because my college has a full blown machine shop (which I should try to take advantage of).

Alright guys,
So I havent really got much done cuz Im waiting for my friend to come (who has a welder who can help me weld the hoop on. I got a cardboard template made for the bracket so if I get some 3/16 aluminum it should work, but Ill have to take it somewhere to get it tigged.
Do any of...
So in order to avoid an more complications Im at least going to try to make a bracket for the caliper. The bolts for the fork brace are basically the same thickness as the ones to mount the caliper so I think if there is a bracket that is welded to a spacer on the axle (see the pic). And then...
Is there a way to find out if that front end is a straight swap. If I'm gonna have to do a ton of fab for this I'd rather just do fab for the setup I already have.
P.S. The battery doesn't seem to be in the way of anything. I would go for an antigravity, but I don't feel like having a $100...
Haha my bad man meant battery (fixed the post now). I can't imagine what ran through your mind when you read that lol. Better proofread next time. I think you are on to something with the heat tape though!
Thanks boys, but Ive read there really arent any good options when it comes to swapping out the forks on these bikes, so at least for now I will try to do a bracket from around the axle up to the caliper.
On another note have you guys ever seen someone mount a battery in this area. I worry...
Sorry it's been awhile shipping on stuff has taken longer than it should've and I'm still struggling with the nerves to jump knees deep into this project. Anyways today I got the wheel I am planning to use which has the size I want and a disk brake. Here is how the bike looks with the kx80 big...
Hey guys,
I was on vacation for the last week so I really haven't done that much, but I did get the oil injection working. This is awesome because now I don't need to premix. I still am having on and off problems about bogging at higher throttle so I am going to change the fuel filter then...
Re: 1976 TS 185 beginner build
So guys I got the handlebars finished up today because the grips and clamps came in. So now onto the bad news. Here is the video I took with my ghetto old iPhone dash cam so someone could help me with this problem:
