Hey guys,
I decided that it's time to take my bike to a whole new level and just go completely custom. For this I need another CM400T frame (I still want to ride my bike day-to-day). I don't care if there is no title.
Please let me know if you have one kicking around, I'll be able to come by...
Customfighters.com has a great thread that lists all the steering bearing sizes for various bikes:
http://www.customfighters.com/forums/showthread.php?t=22068
CM400 stock bearings are:
Upper: 26 x 48.5 x 15.2
Lower: 30 x 50 x 14.4
2008 GSXR are:
Upper:30 x 55 x 17
Lower: 30 x 55 x 17

Sure.
The swap itself was pretty simple. The bottom bearing is the same 30x50, the new top bearing is 30x48.5. I ordered 2 new sets of bearings for a CM400, and machined the 30x50 down to 30x48.5. It's hardened steel, so you'll need a hardened bit to machine it down.

Re: (Not really) The slowest project ever - CM400T - OPINIONS WANTED ON P13!
Thank you all for your opinions, Dan, I might have to take you up on that offer!

Re: (Not really) The slowest project ever - CM400T - on the road!
Thinking of a new tank and tail. Need advice.
What do you guys think about these?
1. Stock tank - as it sits right now:
2. What if I fiberglassed the tank to give it edgier look?
3. What if I went with a GS750 tank, and...

Sorry to hear about your troubles this morning.
Do you feel like you're reaching forward to far right now when you ride it?
How does the seat feel after a 30km ride?
Bike looks great!
