    Nice job so far. What kind of tank are you looking to get? If your going to get rid of that one would you maybe want to sell/trade it to me, because that is the one I want for mine (I like the center cap). Also where in california are you?

    Going along with PJ, just put a slot in the table and a hole at the center piece, and you use a bolt and some washers to create something of a set screw(for lack of a better word) and just tighten it down so that it can't twist away.

    Yeah, I'm a decent bit mechanically, or so I think. also my dad is great with mechanics, and I got everyone here to help out if needed, and I'm not doing anything drastic yet, so I think it should be fine, but thanks for the concern.

    Von, I haven't compression tested it yet, will before I pull the motor, I already have a gasket set, and I planned from the get go to crack it and check it out, good learning experience. the guy I bought it from said that he thinks the transmission might need to be fixed.

    Sorry for the long time for an update, got a rear fender, new kickstart lever and a new speedometer from Socalmike. great guy. Also I got a gasket kit and clymer manual from oldbikebarn.

    I have a set of stock carbs that I'm not going to use, and that way you have some more parts if you need them. Warning though that the right(sitting on bike) carb has some sheared off mounting points.

    thanks mike I'll probably take you up on that offer at some point, yeah I was thinking of getting the "coveted" set with filters and everything from dcc, I was going to upgrade later anyway, the only thing is I"m new to motorcycles so I didn't want to add to much power from the start. here are...
