Alright guys so after a while I finally got back around to working on this, I built myself a table and today I took of the chain cover and sprocket cover, and I was surprised with all the junk and crap in there.

I got '71 cb350 and in socal aswell, good luck and can't wait to see it finished.

Going along with PJ, just put a slot in the table and a hole at the center piece, and you use a bolt and some washers to create something of a set screw(for lack of a better word) and just tighten it down so that it can't twist away.

Yeah, I'm a decent bit mechanically, or so I think. also my dad is great with mechanics, and I got everyone here to help out if needed, and I'm not doing anything drastic yet, so I think it should be fine, but thanks for the concern.

Von, I haven't compression tested it yet, will before I pull the motor, I already have a gasket set, and I planned from the get go to crack it and check it out, good learning experience. the guy I bought it from said that he thinks the transmission might need to be fixed.

Sorry for the long time for an update, got a rear fender, new kickstart lever and a new speedometer from Socalmike. great guy. Also I got a gasket kit and clymer manual from oldbikebarn.

I have a set of stock carbs that I'm not going to use, and that way you have some more parts if you need them. Warning though that the right(sitting on bike) carb has some sheared off mounting points.

If that doesn't work out, If I remember correctly socalmike_cb72 has a set of cl pipes for sale.

for the last bit of rust on the hubs, try metal rescue I hear it does wonders.
