    Oil pressure troubleshooting

I took the valve cover off and there is some oil up there. So I ran the engine and a little bit of oil was slung out, or splashed, but i dont know how much oil should be up there. Any ideas?

    Oil pressure troubleshooting

I have not taken off the oil cover, but I will check that out. The gasket is good, not backwards. I will also check in the port that the OP switch screws in to. Did not check that yet. I have already gotten a second OP switch, but it was used, so I should prob just buy a new one once I runs...

    Oil pressure troubleshooting

I have an 81 CM400 that I have had apart quite a few times. The last few times I have had it apart and back together again, when I start it up, the oil pressure light comes on. I have replaced the oil pressure switch, and I have had the oil pump apart. The oil pump looks mint. I blasted the...

    I was bored so I bought a 1980 Honda CM400T

Wow. Comprehensive. Thanks for all the info and pics! I gotta look into the rear sets sometime. As for the gasket.........I would just stick with the paper. No gunky clean up if you have to take off and put on the side covers. Just buy a few for each side.

    I was bored so I bought a 1980 Honda CM400T

This build is looking! Great job on the polishing. Good to see more CM400's getting done on this site. I would like to know what you end with in terms of jetting the bike. I will be tuning and finishing mine in the next few weeks so it would be nice to see how you finished yours. And do you have...

So looks like the CB and CM 400's share the same chassis huh? What seat did you buy for yours? Im having trouble making a decision on what seat to get cause none will fit properly. Though i talked to guy on ebay who said he was in process of getting an aftermarket cafe seat for CM's (guess it'll...

Nova Scotian new to the scene

I've read a few of you posts and you seem to be knowledgeable with rejetting. I ditched my collector pipe and ditched my airbox so i can put small breathers on the carbs. Think I will need new jets? I've looked at those RocCity seats. Saw a few on some CB's on here and they look good. I already...

Nova Scotian new to the scene

Same bike! Right on. Yeah im not too sure what im gonna do about the seat. I already lopped off the rear section of the seat you see in the second pic, cause I was gonna do a bobber style, then changed my mind too late. So I'll either buy a cafe seat, or mend the old seat and add a hump and...

Nova Scotian new to the scene

Hey y'all. Really enjoyin this site so far. Lots of really nice builds goin on. Its nice to see a few other guys out there with Honda 400's. Not too many of them in my neck of the woods. I bought my 81 CM400e about 5 years ago looking like this: Then painted it and redid the seat in...
