    New project begins CL360

Picked this project back up tonight. My first attempt at metal shaping on building this vintage gp style tank. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Thank you for taking the time to make a drawing. I appreciate the feedback. I do realize they are high, but I have raced thousands of miles on small gp bikes and this is a position very comfortable to me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Spent my weekly night in the shop building and tacking brackets for my rearsets. Mig welding off generator power really sucks. I need a permanent shop. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Cnc lathe decision

Wow apparently these are a hot ticket item. I sold the prolight in non tested condition for $800 within an hour of listing it on eBay. The emco is listed for $1400 and already has several interested parties. Go look if anyone is interested...

    New project begins CL360

Made a little progress tonight in the shop. I installed the dime city cycles seat hoop, put on the clipons and mocked up rearset position. It's starting to look a little like the 1965 Honda 4RC146 gp race bike that I am loosely basing it on. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Yeah those are great too., I love the look. Since the sheet metal is simple and I'll never find any for sale and would feel terrible about cutting it up I will just build the bodywork. Gonna look a lot like those though. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    New project begins CL360

I spent last night putting the motor back together and installing my cam tensioner from sparckmoto. (Thanks!!). I woulda finished putting it together but some crappy ebay seller took over a week to ship a part from 200 miles away. Did some figuring on components and ordered rearsets and...

Very cool photos. Lots of inspiration. I wish this bike had a featherbed frame, but I will work with what I got. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    New project begins CL360

I narrowed in on my inspiration. Obviously not gonna do a replica, but I'm gonna loosely base it on an 1965 Honda mc148 125cc GP bike. I don't think I will be able to find a gas tank from a 50 year old race bike so I'll see what I can do to build one like it. I'll make it fairing optional...

Pretty boring night in the shop. I spent a few hours cleaning gasket surfaces and found a stuck piston ring. But I did decide to get rid of the really sweet looking pipes, and build a vintage GP bike. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Yeah clubman bars are a proven success for sure, I'm just not a fan. I'll be doing clipons if I go that route. There is a chance I might do a tracker or dual sport look just to keep the exhaust, I just can't see a seating position that won't require snuggling with a muffler. Sent from my...

    New project begins CL360

Ha!! Yeah I can name about 20 other things on that bike I won't be doing, especially those clubman bars. But it's a similar motor frame combo imitating a similar vintage of GP race bike I have in mind. I am still searching for other inspiration for things this bike wants to be, but GP bike is...

Exactly. My buddy put it on there since it was a cool piece, but I'm taking to bike in a different direction. Leaning towards this at the moment but I might entertain some scrambler designs if I decide to keep the pipes. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Yeah Australia is a pretty long airplane ride for a headlight. I can see its appeal on the right bike, but this ain't that bike. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
