    RD400 Oil injection Pump

Like the title says I would like to convert my motorcycle back to oil injection. Premixing is getting old. So if you have an oil injection pump laying around let me know. Jeff

    RD400 Replacement Battery

That first battery is a 6 volt one. Also looks like they both have to be ordered at the stores around me. I ended up calling around and almost everyone has to order these. So I bought a Yuasa off of amazon for $33 shipped. Should be here Friday. I wonder if I should take apart these carbs to...

    RD400 Replacement Battery

I just looked up the equivalent of this battery at Advance Auto Parts and it was $148. That is a little pricey.

    RD400 Replacement Battery

So simply yet should work. I have always bought motorcycle batteries from the Motorcycle shops. I may have to look into this route. Amazon has a Yuasa battery for $33 shipped, but it comes with no battery acid.

    RD400 Replacement Battery

I'm looking for a replacement battery for my 1977 RD400. I would like a dry cell or AGM battery in order to not deal with battery acid. I have had some trouble trying to find one. I had the same issue with my old 1971 AT1-c. The battery I'm looking for is 12N5.5B-3A. Any idea where to look? I...

    RD400 Engine Question

I'm looking at a RD400 that is in good overall shape. Its a little worn around where the tank touches the seat, but comestically in really good shape for a bike of its age. My concern is the bike doesn't run currently. Feels to have good compression, but supposedly it won't stay running. The...

Modern dirtbike front end on old Yamaha Enduro

    I'm already on there. :)

Modern dirtbike front end on old Yamaha Enduro

I put that pipe on there. It took a long time to find one too. My plan for the bike is to make it look good, not sure a full resto is in order or not. My plans for the motor are CT1 cylinder and head, light portjob, bigger carb like a 28 MM instead of the stock 24 MM, and if the stock clutch...

Modern dirtbike front end on old Yamaha Enduro

I understand what you are saying. I am familiar with suspension setups on cars. My wheels on the AT1 have not been looked at, and that sounds like that might be out of my domain to be able to do that. I need to get the suspension sorted first. My rear shocks are blown, the front forks are...

Modern dirtbike front end on old Yamaha Enduro

I thought upgrading the front forks to a little bit more modern of a setup would allow it to handle better and stop better. Along with upgrading the front I would put some new shocks on the rear. All of this would make for a better all around bike. I would keep the original parts so if I ever...

Modern dirtbike front end on old Yamaha Enduro

If that was the reasoning of everyone then this site wouldn't exist. Think about it. I'm just trying to make the bike safe. The fork legs are way too small to take any kind of abuse. I also would like to add a disc brake in order to help with stopping.

Modern dirtbike front end on old Yamaha Enduro

I'm more looking for a disc brake up front. I don't want a newer bike. This one has been in my family its entire life.

Modern dirtbike front end on old Yamaha Enduro

If I upgrade the forks I would like a Disc brake. I thought about maybe a TTR 225 front end.

Modern dirtbike front end on old Yamaha Enduro

Haven't posted in a while. Does this front end have a disc brake?

Modern dirtbike front end on old Yamaha Enduro

I was thinking a smaller modern dirbike front would work fine for this application, but you might be right with the suspension travel aspect. What type of forks should I look into? I would like to stiffening up the front end a bit. I am not doing a full cafe racer build. I would like to keep...
