I got both rings off without too much trouble. I hava an exploded diagram, but, it's not very detailed. I think I'll try some penetrating oil and a heat gun. Something might loosen. If anyone else has tried this before, any and all suggestions are appreciated.
Sounds easy enough. Problem is I'm working on the bike. Painting the tank, cutting tabs off the frame, etc. I'm wondering will there be a problem with letting the carbs (73 cb350f) sit for a few months with no fuel in them.
I'd heard that leaving your carbuerators in an unheated garage in IL over the winter can get them "gummed up" or somehow cause them not to work properly come spring. So, since i was pulling just about every other part off of my cafe project, i pulled the carbs to bring them inside. But, I've...
Went to Fast Track yesterday. They wanted $140 for GSXR rearsets sans master cylinder. And Proteal's right, you can't just grab the parts yourself. Krukster, I doubt they have anything old. The guy said it's almost all sportbikes from post '90.
Looking for a place to score some old rearsets. I've called every "wrecker" or "Junkyard" i can find in and around Chicago but none have bikes. Where do all the smashed up Chicago bikes go? There has to be at least one place where you can go and pull old parts off of bikes.
BTW: If anyone...
A bike i'm working on had a cross-threaded plug on the left side. The threads are pretty mashed up. A new plug isn't going in smoothly. Any suggestions?
I've heard a setup like that might not be sturdy enough or even a bit dangerous. How is it working out for you? Can you stand on them wiht all your weight?
How is the ground clearance on the end of the levers?
So, my friend just got a '74 cb360 twin with a cracked top triple clamp. Of course I didn't know this when I rode it home for him (he's got no license). Looks like we're going to have to cop a new triple clamp from ebay. I've a hunch there is some interchangibility between small displacement...
I've posted questions like this here before but they're buried in old threads and I don't want to dig them up for a simple follow up question.
I've made a plywood/florist foam model of the seat I want. I've been told that in order to make a fiberglass copy from it, it can be covered in tin...
