FRANKENHONDA II the 1982 DOHC CB 750F2 Build

Well after being stuck overseas for months I finally got some shed time. I decided to tackle the 1 and only oil leak that has been a bug bear for too long… the tacho delete Meet the tacho delete, after making it up, I went to a radiator joint and they welded it up for me. Finally the...

It’s a difficult one as you don’t want to cut out any of the supporting pieces. Sent from my iPhone using DO THE TON

FRANKENHONDA II the 1982 DOHC CB 750F2 Build

Excellent question, I’m going to try and thread it behind the frame, but I can see it’s going to be a mission. My plan will be to get everything else’s sorted then ride it to the brake place and have them make it on the bike so it ticks in nicely. Either that or it’s back to the drawing...

Pretty much you have no other options other than running long hoses to the ground maybe ? Although with pod filters there you need to be careful when cleaning the bike that you don’t get water in there. Sent from my iPhone using DO THE TON

FRANKENHONDA II the 1982 DOHC CB 750F2 Build

I got the gear side rearset bracket of OMM and I polished it up and fitted it to see what she looks like. I’m pretty happy with the way it ties in with the contours of the frame and engine. Sent from my iPhone using DO THE TON

It’s 6 x 6.5 mm, I guess I’ll find out once we put it all together and I use it. Best thing is, if it breaks I can always just change the design dimensions and make another one. Sent from my iPhone using DO THE TON

FRANKENHONDA II the 1982 DOHC CB 750F2 Build

Well I had a small win today, I designed the small bracket that will hold the rear brake master cylinder to the rearset brackets. For a while there I was pulling out what little hair I have when the program refused to let me select parts of my design to extrude into a 3D image... word to...

FRANKENHONDA II the 1982 DOHC CB 750F2 Build

A few YouTube tutorials later and we made a cut, granted we broke the bit within the first 30 seconds, but after some conservative tool setting recalibration and the second attempt was successful. The next project will be to make the rear brake master cylinder mounting bracket. Start small...
