    QT50 Yamahopper Cafe - Issues

It sounds like you didn't hurt it too bad, and i don't really think the idle screw had much to do with it or at least was an unrelated issue. I know the jetting was pretty close if not a slight bit on the rich side when I had the bike here but a proper plug chop would be a good double check.

    QT50 Yamahopper Cafe - Issues

Hmm, so you normally hit about 40mph on the flat and it's twisting around 10K rpm when doing so. If you are going down hill with the throttle wide open and hit 60mph, that means you're twisting close to 15K rpm with the same amount of throttle setting that would normally only get you 10K. I...

    72 CL350 Fiberglass Seat

Re: 72 CL350 steampunk cafe I like your ideas and look forward to following this. I was considering something very similar for high/low beam headlight as I am looking at using high powered LED's in a headlight bucket and the mechanical high/low takes care of the refocusing and I can drop the...

    QT50 Yamahopper Cafe - Issues

Re: QT50 Yamahopper Cafe - It's Scootin' Hey kwazykid, I'm glad you're enjoying it. I miss it already. I guess I'll have to build another for me, actually, for your mom and younger brothers. I really like what you did with the fender. It's hard to believe the difference from what it started out...

    QT50 Yamahopper Cafe - Issues

Re: QT50 Yamahopper Cafe - It was a bad stator!!! I pulled the stator off the running engine and put it in the new engine. Ignition problem solved. It started second kick and after warming it up a bit, I rode it pretty hard for about 15 minutes. That should have seated the new rings in pretty...

    QT50 Yamahopper Cafe - Issues

Re: QT50 Yamahopper Cafe - It's the little things (Videos Pg. 11) Almost done! Well, I got the new engine installed along with the new pipe and 16mm carb. I turned on the fuel, kicked it over and it fired right up. I let it warm up a bit and then took it out for a ride around the block. It...

    QT50 Yamahopper Cafe - Issues

Re: QT50 Yamahopper Cafe - Hotter engine built I finished the hotter engine assembly this morning. This evening after it cools back down a bit I should get it installed on the bike and get a first run. I have no clue how close the carb will be so I am expecting a bit of rejetting will be...

    QT50 Yamahopper Cafe - Issues

Re: QT50 Yamahopper Cafe - It's the little things (Videos Pg. 11) It handles great, much more solidly than the original QT50, and you are right, it is a blast to ride. Ben (kwazykid) will have it with him in Ohio next month so you'll have to see it for yourself. The original QT50 front forks...

    QT50 Yamahopper Cafe - Issues

Re: QT50 Yamahopper Cafe - It's Alive!!! Well I got the case split tonight and there was good news and bad news. I found that the engine must have sat outside a while before we bought it and the main crank bearings are toast. Luckily, they aren't too expensive and they are readily available...

    QT50 Yamahopper Cafe - Issues

Re: QT50 Yamahopper Cafe - It's Alive!!! Well, I didn't get to split the case of the second engine tonight but I did pick up the special tools I need to do so and I ordered the crank shaft and drive shaft seals so it will be as oil tight as new when we put it back together. I hope to split the...

My Daily/Mini Cafe project Kawi KM100

I love the smaller bikes....well, actually, I like all bikes. But, anyway, small bikes make great cafes too. Your bike has a lot of potential and I agree that just a few changes will make it look like a cool lil cafe racer. I'm looking forward to seeing how it turns out.

    QT50 Yamahopper Cafe - Issues

Re: QT50 Yamahopper Cafe - Let the Engine Mods Begin! Here's my first attempt at tuck and roll. I took the pictures so it shows it in it's best. there are several areas less than perfect and I think I can tweak a couple seams to make it better.
