Regarding the oil - it sounds like you just over-filled. Are you reading the dipstick or measuring the oil? My bike takes much less oil to read full on the dipstick then what my manual says is required to fill the crankcase.

Maybe make a list of all the stuff you've done. There are a LOT of possible causes that I can think of. I just skimmed your build thread again...I see you had the top end done up with new pistons and rings but did you take a look at the valves? Did you lap them in or see if they were leaking...

'Hondabond' is the modern equivalent to what they are referring to. 'Hondabond', 'Threebond 1194', and 'Yamabond' are all the same thing. I can't remember the exact process, but the stuff comes in a tube and is of a very thin consistency. I spread it on my case half with a small paint brush.
