** PICS OF MEMBERS RIDES ** - Official Before & After Thread

This bike has gone through some changes over the past couple years but here's how she came home and how she looks today on a test ride. Sorry about the crappy phone pics.

Hey, from the left coast of Canada

Sorry to bring up an old thread but my Rat/Police bike took a little step closer to being respectable thanks to a new tank from a local rider. I miss the metal tank but a colossal failure and too many patches made it unsafe in my mind. Tried matching the paint on the tail section as best I...

    Brat?

I call this one a brat. But then again I thought it was an acronym for Burning Rice All the Time. ;D

Not sure if this will help you but I've found the following guide lines for jet sizes. 2 sizes up for pods. 2 sizes up for less restrictive muffler. 1 size up for every 8 inches of pipe taken off. 1 size up for every pipe split from the rest. (eg, 4 into 1 changed to 4 into 2 = 1 jet size)...

Under seat electronics tray (no cafe hump)

Like most I've just fabricated a steel box but I've left the battery out. Had to make a new battery box but there was just no room for the damn thing under there. The RR is mounted under the rear tail for air flow.

Way to go RD. She looks awesome and sounds just a good. Glad the piolet jet hint stirred some memories. ;) You now have me motivated to make a muffler for my Versys. Something I've wanted to screw around with for some time. As for the seat I know what you mean about being uncomfortable...

Mirrors look great RD. You're a handy guy. As for the carb sinc I've only done it on a homemade set up my son and I built last year. I found putting some very small idle carb jets in the vacuum lines coming out of the test guages smoothed things out.

You could always make some. These were thrown together in a couple hours after finding some 2.5 inch mirrors at the dollar store. Cut some plate metal to size, sanded and painted. Attached using a .75 inch angle bracket and a rubber grommet with nut behind to hold inside the bar end. I've...

They are just 9" glass packs from Summit Racing. I've since gone to the 12" with baffles to keep the neighbors happy. ;)

Nice build my friend. Great bike but I'm kind of bias. ;D Good to see your take on the old KZP's.

Hey, from the left coast of Canada

Decided to changed the tail section to match the tank. Got rid of the space age technical polymer (paint bucket plastic). Kind of hard to get new steel to look the same as 1981 steel but we'll keep working at it. :)

They are. So far so good. Not too many miles on them yet but will say they are a %100 better than the Duro's that were on there before. I bought the cheap tires just to get it on the road and for the style. Never had plans on pushing them in the least. However, they were very soft and held...

Hey, from the left coast of Canada

Thanks a lot. The ride isn't bad at all. You are just bent at the hips and not the knees. I'm kind of on the big side (6-3) so most bikes are cramped anyway, you just get used to it. I might get some rear sets but my heart isn't set on them just yet. And to be honest the seat hight is...

Sorry to bring up an old thread but I was just too proud of some new seat work, new tires and of course some new stickers LOL. ;)
