My 2 cents: it depends.
While I won't argue that powder coat is more durable, I will say that there are things you can do with paint that you just cannot do with powder. If you want some really exotic candy color on your frame, chances are you are going to have to go with paint, same with any...

I'm not so sure about that. He's got a good bit of space, but I don't know how much travel is in those shocks. looks to me like it might clear. My only concern is that those look to be uni-directional tires and they are facing the opposite direction...
+1 on the shop manual. Its the first thing I buy for any vehicle I purchase. those DOHC's can make for a really nice cafe IMHO. What are your plans for it(style, colors, tank/seat combo)?
