I do believe what it covers is part of the problem...along with the big issues of huge insurance company profits, huge pharmaceutical profits, and huge hospital/care provider profits....it's a mess.
I'm not afraid of a universal not for profit system...I'm afraid of our government running it...
Lord have mercy....nobody said cars are people....the point is that insurance isn't supposed to cover every nickel and dime thing....sheesh

I can't believe y'all didn't know we spend 10 times more on defense than any other nation...been that way for at least a decade and a half from when I checked for the first time. Who knows how long before that.
From everything I've heard about socialized medicine it's great until you have...
After a couple of mid high Rev pulls of only a few seconds(like maybe 5,500-6,500 rpm) it started to break up then it would act like it was running on 1 cylinder for a while before it would completely die...all within about 30sec to a minute.

I had no spark at all... completely dead. Burn mark under the circuit board on the rotor back plate.
After the second one I picked up a ballast resistor, a capacitor, got the points set up, and haven't looked back.

I wish I could help but sadly after burning up 3 pamco units on my xs650 with no reasonable explanation for it I robbed the points off a donor motor and haven't looked back.
Pete was kind enough to replace it twice and through all of my work and trouble shooting I never found the culprit and...
I had to do quite a bit of body work on the side covers but they're getting pretty close to straight
Then it was on to cutting off and filling the brackets on the tank. I cut them off, ground it down, and sanded the area to be filled with 220 hoping to get good adhesion with the filler. I...
foam molds came out pretty well...not sure they could be used again though...the "finished" side would need quite a bit of smoothing out
One trimmed down, one to go...fits pretty nicely
Mirrored set... Now I need to figure out if I should use the stock mounting or if I should try to figure...
The masking tape worked pretty well on my seat pan. I just used turtle wax and a little silicone spray this time.
Thanks for the tip, hopefully these work alright
taped up the molds and got the glass cut up...I figure 3 layers is enough for side covers
waxed up the molds well so the glass will come off fairly well and screwed them to something that'll give me some way to lay it up
I had some issues with the resin jelling up way too fast for me to lay...
+1, great info here...pretty much what I do for guitars and bikes. Can be done by hand for sure, but even a little foam bonnet on a drill can speed things up considerably for the finally buffing and swirl removal. Meguiars Scratch X swirl remover is money for final buffing IMO.
I decided I didn't like the stock side cover at all so it was time to work with the foam...I traced at least a basic shape outside the edge of the stock one I cut up just to have a place to start
I sliced it down the middle so each piece was about an inch thick
With the band saw, electric...
I've been thinking about side cover ideas and instead of starting with a blank foam piece I figured I'd grab the stock cover and start cutting it down to something that might pass for a base that I could glass over to finish it up....I'm not a huge fan. I could glass it so that I would have a...
