What a great shape that tank has. I suppose with the bodywork and such I never saw it before. I have an SRX with a simular tank.Both very nice. Great job!

Yep That was the beauty of it.

I considered a through rod but decided to go with welded couplers. I just ground slots in the pipe. Snugged the Nut next to the aluminum and welded it in place on the pipe. Simplicity and weight I guess. Not really sure why I did not go with a bolt but both seem feasible to me.

As you can probably tell I welded a coupling nut inside the tube for the other bolts

Stock bolt works and the plate is 1/4
