    72 CL100, Piglet

Re: Piglet-Too many Irons in the fire Looking good. Mine has a red side cover on the left and the original yellow everywhere else. it seems to run well and will make a nice pitbike.

    1972 CL100 S?

I got an incorrect new coil, tried it anyway and toasted it too. It was for an electronic ign. it ohmed out at 5,3, so I'm not sure what happened. Maybe my meter needs a battery. Next up will be a cb360 coil. It's correct for points 12 volt, matches the stator and bikes wiring.

Re: Piglet- 6 to 12v conversion My 360 stator had a nub that may do the locating job for the cl100's tensioner. I need to check that now that it ran two blocks. This bike always dies at that distance, even before I got it. I'm wondering if it's fuel related, it only seems to get enough fuel...

Re: Piglet- 6 to 12v conversion I got my 12 volt cl100 together, ran it two blocks and it died. I left the key on while trying to start it and it popped the fuse. And the next, the 6 V coil is now leaking melted wax. It had massive spark though, for a while. I'd go with a resistor next time...

Well, I didn't put on the resistor and did leave the key on by accident and it did fry the coil. LOL. It had a massive spark when it worked!

Re: CL100 the Piglet I did a welding job in trade for a deer salami . Holy smokes is that good. Just enough spice to be hot but not too much. It's got some cheese in it too. I'm hoping he needs more work done.

    1972 CL100 S?

I got it together, it fired right up and runs but still peters out after 100 yards or so. It doesn't seize so I'm guessing it's a fuel supply issue. I didn't think to try the choke. Anyway I adjusted the float which seems high given the angle of the carb. Then it didn't start so I rolled it back...

    1972 CL100 S?

OK, the AGM $16 dollar battery came and it's too fat for the sidecover to go on. I stood the battery on it's end, it goes in that way just like the post on yahoo said. i'm going to try to move the airbox to the right a little and see if that frees up the space I need. I got a 15 amp mini blade...

Doesn't make sense unless you're class racing but interesting anyway, http://web.archive.org/web/20090912064108/http://www.powroll.com/P_HONDA_VINTAGE_100-125.htm

    1972 CL100 S?

On the 750's the 5 ohm coils are stock, 3 ohms are hot aftermarket and can suck the battery dry. Hmmm, someone tried the GM coils but they used too much juice, this might call for a trip to the shop. I ordered an XTAX4HL-BS gel battery it was listed in the yahoo forum as fitting the battery...

    1972 CL100 S?

Not yet, I sort of forgot the coil. I've got some old resistors from a 6 volt car I converted in 1969. I may put one in line ahead of the coil. I'm going to check the ohms of the 6 volt and the GM single coil I have too. The PO cut out the headlight reflector for a halogen 55/65 watt bulb I...

    1972 CL100 S?

I also bought a set of repro sidecovers for a cb125 just to get the left one. They're candy red and beautiful. It'll be a shame to paint the left one. The right won't fit on a cl but I have that one. So, if anyone needs a right side cb125 cover I've got an extra. I got the wiring buttoned up...

    1972 CL100 S?

Thanks, I bought it. I have the repop turn signals working and the reg/rec is wired in except the voltage sensing wire. I need to add a connection to a black switched wire. The Headlight is way to big it's like 45/60 watts, I need to find an H4 that's 35W at least on low.

    1972 CL100 S?

I have the stator swapped in and wired to the cl100 plug, I'm expecting a $40 rec/reg any time now and my parts order from Thailand. If I knew the 360 rotor swapped in I might do that but I'm also concerned with the weight of it too. I've been checking out the 125 cylinder and piston sets...
