If you know the carbs aren't synced I would definitely do all that I could before trying to troubleshoot something

Unless you can find OEM filters for your bike or something you'll probably have to rejet if you want to run right. Pods are way less restrictive so you'll be running lean (if you can run at all) without tweaking some things. Good air filters like K&Ns are much better than the cheap Emgo ones...

Following a fellow 360 project

Nope, normal shift pattern. The upward V in the linkage lets it shift normally, but I'm going to play around with a few different angles and see which one works the smoothest. Not a fan of GP shifting though

To get your standard grime out you can usually take a cloth and solvent to it, but yeah for harder stuff you'll need to have a clean baseline to start out with, which means the ultrasonic or chem dip. Also x2 on taking everything apart, you will have to pull them off again to do jetting and...

Here's what the shifter looks like right now: I have to tweak the linkage a little and adjust the angles so clicking is more precise, but otherwise it works! Shift lever clears exhaust, can comfortably get over/under to shift. That metal peg coming out from next to the engine mount bolt...
