So i bought the bike a while back, long story short had to redo the cylinders about a week after purchase. Now shes bored .5 over new pistons, rings wrists etc. valve seats recut and valves lapped in. I also did a proper job of removing the funky air canisters and blocking off the reed ports...
Yeah I mean it may be a museum quality bike and that could merit the price but your not gonna use it for that. Keep checkin craigslist, and youll find a nice smaller cc cb or similar for way less. Never been ridden isnt always better either. if someone is riding it now, you know everything is...
A few pics for everyone. some progress has been made. Heres a shot of my super sweet moty design battery.
Heres my electronics tray. theres now a plate that holds the battery as well.
heres the addition to the tail piece, as well as the begining of the tank straightening process, and all the...
Just an idea for you guys lookin to retain passanger pegs with rear sets and what not. I plan on buying/making a set of pegs that will clamp on the frame so that i can cut off the huge passanger peg mounts on my bike (79 750k).
Well I figured it was time to know the dust off the ol build thread... Finally gotten some time to throw a wrench at old bones... No pics yet but i have altered my seat/ tail section, and it looks alot more complete. Ive also relocated most of the electronics and battery to under the seat and...
the shocks where purely cosmetic, for now at least. I would eventually like to do a mono rear conversion, or get one of carpy's boxed swing arms and some nice shocks, but i dont know enough nor do i have the money tree grown that tall yet lol. this is taking priority over the swing arm simply...
Thanks for the info. I understand more now. Anyone done a front end swap on doch cb750? I believe my forks are roughly 31 in from cap to axel center, uncompressed, but on my bike i have them pushed up around 2 inches to level the bike, as i have shorter rear shocks. Any one know of a place to...
Ok so i have a 79 cb750 k that i would like to do a front end swap on. It has stem bearing dimensions of 26x47x15 top and bottom. say i wanted to swap on a front end from a bike with bearing dimensions 30x55x17, what would i have to do exactly? Im kinda confused on what the numbers im looking at...
thanks spalding. I believe my tire is like 130/90-18 or 130/80-18 one of the two for sure. I kind of wish i would have gone with a slightly wider tire. I dont think much if any fab would need to be done, and it would ride and look even sweeter ;D
So Im hoping to get some better carbs this summer. I want the option of pods as well as the ability to go online and order carb parts if needed. The old keihin VB's on my bike are just too big of a pain to get shit for. The research ive done and conversations Ive had suggested that FCRs and CRs...
Re: The "Bomber" my GL1100 project
Cool build man. Original! not many people build wings, but I think they have alot of potential. And whoa are the smooth to ride. My room mate has a gl1100 that he just rode from pheonix to key west. Im def. gonna have to show him this build so he can have a...
This guys jealous. I love the new bonnies man. I like the fact that at a glance it could be mistaken for a much older bike, but the components are all modern. SWEET SWEET SWEET.
So theres hundreds of beautiful bikes on here... The IT is pretty radical man! im digin it big time.
So Bones isnt exactly done, more like done for now, as im loosing the shop to go back on the road for work. so this is kinda a before and after/ before and for now type deal. k ill shut up heres...
