    Triumph Thruxton Resurrection Project

Earlier this year I got rear ended. Taking that as a starting point to do most of the things, in one build (instead of a project here, a project there) I've been wanting to do. Step 1 -Electrical Clean-up/ReRoute (to under seat tray). :o

    Wagner Paint Ready System

I get good results with rattle can just don't like it not being resistant to gas... that and the limited color (and clear and pearl and metallic) options out there. I'm wanting to get a air compressor anyway for "air" jobs. So I guess I'll start looking into getting a halfway decent...

    Wagner Paint Ready System

Damn! :'( OK. Can I get into a system -(Gun, Compressor, and what ever the hell else) for under $200 that will give halfway decent (read backyard mechanic not professional) paint results (after I learn proper techniques)? It would be nice to be able to change colors when I feel like it...

    Wagner Paint Ready System

Has anyone used one of these (or something similar) to spray Auto Paint? In their FAQ they recommend a HVLP sprayer and this is the one Wagner has. http://www.wagnerspraytech.com/portal/paint_ready_system_en_spray.html With the "problem" I'm having trying to decide on paint I figure I could...

    Love or Hate

The duc looks good to me because the only Color on the bike is the tank. On my Thrux it would be the tank, side covers and front fender. I'm leaning towards #1 & #3. See too much carbon fiber out there! Either would have a matte clear on the "color" and a gloss clear on the stripe.

I expected this type of response. ::) FYI this is the third paint scheme I've had on the bike. Initially it was Black with the checkered stripe but I had to change that as there are toooooooo many black Thruxs/Bonnies out there. Next was a Krylon Textured Matte Shimmer Gray. Liked that but...

    Love or Hate

Finally got done with my paint. After my wreck I couldn't decide on what color to repaint the tins. While preping the tank for paint (filling a few small dents, priming, and sanding) I looked at it and thought "That looks kind of Kewl. Hmmmmmm?" Went to town on the rest of the body work...

    Getting Close

Well, figured I'd post in this one final time. Bike has been back on the road for a while.. have put a little over 2500 miles on it. Everything is working fine, no major issues what so ever. Still trying to figure out what I want to do with the paint. But in the in the mean time I've...

Wouldn't change a thing so far.... well, I probably would have finished the paint faster but I though I had more time. Not a big thing though. Guess my body healed like the bike... came out better as now I can tell when there is a storm coming in (back starts to ache where the break is). :-\...

    Lighting Holes

After an Epic Fail at trying to Clear the chain guard in my garage using just the garage lights.... Looked good after spraying final coat. Went back a couple hours later and HUGE RUNS pooling up around the holes. Chalked this up to just using the garage lights to see what I was doing and putting...

    Lighting Holes

With my bike in for repairs from being run off the road I decided to "lighten" my chain guard so it would match the Heel Plate and BC Drilled Front Sprocket Cover. I figured "How hard can it be?". I first pulled the guard off the bike and took it into work to reform the rear section. This...

    Matte Clear?

OK, decided to forgo the clear coat. Figured I'll just keep doing what I've been doing for the past year.... pull up to pump, put bike on side stand, get nozzle and lay it on the ground, pay for gas, pick up nozzle and move over tank with free hand under spout, gas up, pull nozzle out from tank...
